Apprentice Heavy Diesel Fitter (Crane Mechanic)

We have a fleet of 200 cranes ranging from 2.5T to 1200T, including minicranes, Frannas, all-terrains and crawler cranes. Are you interested in kickstarting your career in the crane industry? We are seeking an Apprentice Heavy Diesel Fitter to work as part of the maintenance team to support our Universal Cranes operations in Gladstone.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assisting with planned servicing and unplanned repairs on a wide range of cranes
• Helping diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues
• Working in both workshop and onsite environments
• Learning to use diagnostic tools and crane-specific computer systems
• Supporting safety-first practices across all tasks

• Genuinely interested in mechanical systems and how machines work
• Reliable, proactive, and eager to learn
• Enjoys practical, hands-on work and problem solving
• Well-organised and able to work as part of a team

The successful candidates will also be subject to the following additional requirements as part of the role:

• The ability to pass pre-employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Testing
• Police Check and other Visa requirements
