Crane Operator

Universal Cranes is a privately owned family business that operates mobile crane hire branches throughout Queensland. We have a fleet of 200 cranes ranging from 2.5T to 1200T, including minicranes, Frannas, all-terrains and crawler cranes. Universal Cranes began as a family crane hire business in 1993 and have grown to become a national crane hire company. We pride ourselves on maintaining a family business service culture while providing our clients with a national high-capacity fleet.

We are seeking experienced Crane Operators / Riggers for general crane hire work in Townsville and MacKay. Both casual and full time positions available.

REQUIRED:

• Prior experience in mobile crane hire business
• No site restrictions (must be able to access all client and industrial sites)
• A minimum of 3 years’ demonstrated experience operating a range of mobile cranes including pick and carry cranes, city cranes, All Terrain Cranes (i.e. with lattice fly configurations).
• Relevant tickets / Licence e.g. Dogman (DG) Basic Rigging Ticket (RB), Heavy Rigid truck Licence (HR), Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Forklift Licence, Working at Heights Ticket, Crane Licence (C0), (C6), (CN)
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
• Availability for irregular hours (early starts, late finishes, night shift, weekend work) as expected in a crane hire business.
• Demonstrated experience as a positive team contributor.
• Professionalism in on site presentation and communication with Customers
• Maturity and ability to deal with multi-site, multi-cultural teams

PREFERRED:

• Prior experience in mobile crane hire business
• Prior experience on shutdowns in Townsville, Mackay, North West QLD regions
• Intermediate Rigging ticket an advantage
• Heavy Combination (HC) or Multi Combination (MC) truck license

Successful candidates will also be subject to the ability to pass pre-employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Testing.
