About the Role

To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate that you have strong finance background and experience, great communication skills and high level problem solving abilities to manage a largely autonomous position.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, duties include but not limited to:

Credit Officer duties:

  • Ensure the collection of overdue accounts, keeping bad debt to a minimum and preserving cash flow
  • Contact customers with overdue accounts to negotiate fair and flexible payments, exercising care and compassion
  • You’ll work closely with debt collection agencies to resolve complex credit problems and mitigate risk on referred and delinquent accounts
  • You’ll work in a fast-paced customer contact centre environment
  • Liaises with clients and sales to resolve disputes
  • Preparing journal entries and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare debtor reporting including producing monthly Aged Debtor Reports
  • Highlighting problem customers to senior management
  • Processing and assessment of Credit Account and COD Applications
  • Maintain the integrity of customer records and its security

To be successful in the Credit Officer role you must possess the following attributes:

  • Understanding of end-to-end Debt Collection
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and team members
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong and demonstrated collection experience
  • High volume telephone collections experience a must
  • Ability to communicate with evidence of effective issue management and query resolution
  • Ability to influence outcomes without any direct line authority
  • Proactive in identifying and solving problems
  • Drive for continuous improvement of processes and operational excellence
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Tenacity and ability to have difficult conversations
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Proficiency in Oracle Netsuite and Visual Dispatch systems, preferred
