The rain wasn’t enough to make our 80T Demag AC80 pike out of the CC’s party held in early December at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.

CC’s put on a competition where winners were flown to the Gold Coast to use ‘The Claw’ to pick a giant corn chip out of a giant bowl. On each corn chip was written a prize, and up for grabs was $200,000, a boat, a motorbike, a sports car, $10 000 worth of travel and more!

‘The Claw’ was a device built by an events agency that hooked onto our 80T Demag, and pretty much looked just like a giant arcade claw! The participant directed the dogman, who directed the driver where to aim the claw in the giant bowl of chips.

It made for some interesting times with a claw that couldn’t quite keep hold of the wet and slippery plastic corn chips! Our dogman Patty and driver Clint stayed cool and calm as they tried to navigate an 80T crane to pick up a 200g plastic chip.

We even had a visit from Sunrise who did their weather cross at the CC’s party. The first participant picked her prize in front of a live audience on Channel 7, and won a digital camera! B105 also joined in the fun with live music and plenty of giveaways.

The highlight of the day was giving away Universal Cranes umbrellas to some desperate Dreamworld visitors who were soldiering on despite the pouring rain!
