Dismantling Tower Crane in South Brisbane
03 March 2020
UNIVERSAL CRANES WERE ENGAGED TO DISMANTLE A TOWER CRANE AND IMPLEMENT DUAL LIFTS TO TAIL COMPONENTS.
Universal Cranes worked with VTS Contracting QLD to assist in dismantling a STL420 tower crane in Woolloongabba, Brisbane. The Tomkins Commercial STL420 Silk tower crane was dismantled on time and without incidents despite the windy weather.
Over two days on the 7th and 8th of February, Universal Cranes utilised the Liebherr LTM1350-6.1 and 25t Franna for the job. The Liebherr LTM1350-6.1 was configured with a 65.6m main boom, Y-Guys and 30m Fixed fly at 0deg. This configuration was used to remove the Jib sections, CWTS and A-Frame at a maximum 24m radius and 90m head height. The crane was reconfigured onsite to a 24m fixed fly to remove the Slew mount, winches, M/Deck and towers at a maximum 20m radius.
The 25t Franna was used to assemble and disassemble the mobile crane components. We conducted dual lifts using the mobile (Liebherr) and Franna to tail components and load onto transport for removal from site.
Universal Cranes is well equipped for these technical lifts. Well done to the team on another successful job!
